DESCRIPTION:This breakout session will not offer CMEs. \nTNAC Overview and lessons learned \nDescription of TNAC\, what topics and methods are included as well as cost presented with alternatives as well as requirements for students to participate in the course. \nRebecca Van Stanton \n\nRebecca VanStanton\, DNP\, RN\, CEN\, CPEN\, TCRN \nRebecca is the pediatric trauma clinical reviewer for the C.S. Mott Pediatric Trauma Program focusing on performance improvement and patient safety. Prior to this role\, she had worked in pre-hospital\, emergency\, and burn/trauma departments since 2002\, caring for and serving a diversity of patients of all ages in rural and urban settings across several states. Rebecca attained her BSN from Indiana University of Pennsylvania\, her MSN from Texas Tech University\, and her DNP at the University of Michigan. \nIn addition to her work at C.S. Mott\, Rebecca serves as the Trauma Chair for the Michigan Emergency Nurses Association and volunteers for the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and Michigan Animal Rescue League. She has served as an item writer for the Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) certification exam and as a peer reviewer for Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)\, Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)\, and the ABA Core Curriculum for Burn Nursing: From Injury Prevention to Rehabilitation. Rebecca sits on the national course faculty committee for the ENA and focuses on improving care\, providing education\, and advocating for both nurses and patients around the globe. \nWhen she’s not working or volunteering you can find Rebecca traveling\, hiking\, being outdoors\, or spending time with her dogs\, cats\, and cockatiel. \n\n\nObjective 1:  Understand requirements to participate in TNAC\n\nObjective 2: Verbalize costs associated with TNAC program.

DESCRIPTION:Clinical Research in Trauma Care: From Concept to Compliance \nThis session provides a practical\, step-by-step overview of the clinical research process within trauma and acute care settings\, from identifying a research question to study execution\, analysis\, and dissemination. Emphasis will be placed on selecting appropriate study designs\, understanding regulatory and ethical requirements\, and ensuring compliance with institutional and federal research standards. \nDesigned for clinicians\, research staff\, and trainees at varying levels of experience\, this session aims to demystify the research process and equip attendees with the foundational tools needed to initiate and conduct rigorous\, compliant clinical research within trauma systems. \n \n\nDayan Zorkot\, MPH \nDayan Zorkot\, MPH is the Research Coordinator of Trauma and Burn Department at the Detroit Receiving Hospital (DMC)\, where she oversees the conduct of investigator-initiated and multi-institutional clinical research across trauma services. Her role spans study development\, regulatory compliance\, and scientific execution and dissemination within multidisciplinary clinical teams\, especially high-acuity trauma settings. She is a member of the Michigan Trauma Coalition Research Committee. \n\n\nObjective 1: Select and apply appropriate clinical research study designs (retrospective\, prospective\, observational\, interventional) based on a defined research question\, available data sources\, and regulatory considerations in trauma and acute care research.\n\n\nObjective 2: Navigate the full clinical research lifecycle from study initiation to dissemination\, including IRB and ethical requirements\, data integrity and compliance\, and strategies for translating research findings into abstracts\, manuscripts\, and peer-reviewed publications..
