Carly returned to the Spectrum/Corewell system in 2018 by hiring in to the Gerber Emergency Department\, and then going on to the Trauma Program Coordinator role in 2022. Designed by AHIMA certified ICD-10 instructors and ambassadors\, this comprehensive introduction to trauma-specific ICD10 coding\, fulfills the unique needs of beginning and intermediate level Trauma Registrars. Students will in-depth discussions on ICD-10-CM External Cause\, ICD-10-CM Injuries\, ICD-10-PCS procedures guidelines\, rules\, indexes\, and ancillary sections as well as a detailed discussion on root operations and approaches. \nCost is $125 for members and $260 for non-members. DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Clarissa Santana\, MA\, LPC\, CPST-I\nInjury Prevention Specialist\, Michigan Medicine\, Pediatric Trauma \n \nClarissa is an Injury Prevention Specialist for the C.S. Mott Pediatric Trauma Injury Prevention Program. She attended Eastern Michigan University for her bachelor’s degree and Wayne State University for her master’s in clinical mental health counseling. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and has a deep appreciation for the value of cultural diversity. Clarissa’s focus has been on extending injury prevention education to Spanish-speaking communities. She has worked on the creation of comprehensive educational materials covering various aspects of pediatric injury prevention. These materials have been widely used to educate parents\, caregivers\, and healthcare professionals on best practices to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Clarissa is a certified child passenger safety instructor (CPST-I). In addition to her role at Mott\, Clarissa is a licensed mental health counselor at a private practice working with clients experiencing issues related to depression\, anxiety\, stress\, grief\, trauma\, and life transitions. \nExploration of PTSD and Post-Injury Mental Health Care Strategies breakout session \nExplore how to integrate ACS guidelines into mental health care strategies. SUMMARY:2024 Trauma Advanced Registrar Prep (TARP)
DESCRIPTION:This remote course (live and recorded sessions) will start on January 29 and continue to take place during the month of February. You will receive access to the course on January 29th  to start listening to the presentations. The first live Q&A session will be on February 2nd to discuss Anatomy 1.0. The second and third live Q&A sessions are on February 8th and 15th. After the last Q&A there is a Quiz. You will be able to listen to all of the presentations as many times as you like during the course time frame. \nTARP is geared towards the advanced registrar who has taken the AIS course. This course will concentrate on the areas that the registrar will encounter\, and how the trauma data is going to evolve\, as well as dive in deeper on topics such as PI\, DM\, statistics and focusing on the NTDS data dictionary and TQIP. It will also consist of recorded anatomy lessons. This course will prepare you for the CSTR exam. \nThis is a member only event and the cost is $150. This is a savings of $165 per attendee. SUMMARY:Trauma Quality: Challenging the Status Quo
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Patricia Irwin\, RN\, BSN\, Trauma Program Manager\, McLaren Bay Region \nBio: Patti graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Saginaw Valley State University in 2006. She worked in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit and Surgical Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary’s – Saginaw until 2016. During that time\, she was often a preceptor to students and new graduates\, and charge nurse/education liaison. In 2017\, Patti started her current role as Trauma Program Manager at McLaren Bay Region. In July 2019\, McLaren Bay Region successfully achieved initial Trauma Designation as a MDHHS Verified Level III Trauma Center. Over the past five years\, she has been able to build successful trauma quality processes\, internal trauma education programs\, and increase community partnerships with active involvement in the Bay County Active Assailant Task Force. Patti is truly passionate about improving trauma care in Bay County and serving her community through injury prevention and community outreach efforts. She also has three wonderful daughters Kasia\, Genevieve\, and Miranda and Rudy\, a golden retriever.
