Evaluating Teen Injury Prevention Programs: Comparing strategies for impact and engagement

Evaluating teen injury prevention programs can be challenging and time-consuming, especially when trying to maintain student engagement. This session will explore and compare practical methods for assessing the effectiveness of injury prevention presentations aimed at teens.

Katie Watson, BSN, RN

Katie has been the Injury Prevention Coordinator for Henry Ford Jackson’s Trauma Program for 3 years. Her 11-year RN experience includes emergency care, home care, nursing education, long term acute care and perioperative services. She enjoys working in injury prevention because she can connect with individuals and communities to encourage health, wellness and safety.

Objective 1:  Describe the ThinkFirst for Teens program.
Objective 2:  Identify and compare at least two methods of evaluating effectiveness of teen injury prevention programming.
