It is an interactive course providing Trauma Program Managers/Directors/Coordinators, PI Coordinators, other members of the trauma program, and those interested in joining the field with the core concepts of building a sustainable and comprehensive trauma program. Course Objectives

    1. Describe essential components of trauma programs and trauma systems
    2. Recognize the impact of psychological and socio-economic challenges within the population served
    3. List the roles and responsibilities of the trauma program manager (TPM), trauma medical director (TMD), other trauma program staff and key leadership roles
    4. Identify important elements of a successful Performance Improvement Patient Safety (PIPS) Program
    5. Discuss the planning and preparation necessary for trauma center verification and designation
    6. Describe key components, best practice and implementation for trauma outreach, education, injury prevention, registry, and trauma budget
    7. Discuss designing tools and data to influence optimal reporting in accordance with standards within the trauma industry
