May 21 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

TEXAS-Sized Lessons from Trauma Con 2026

This session provides PI tactics, VR education, CBRNE International Updates, Trauma survivorship, Wilderness & Environmental emergencies, Trauma Readmissions.

TraumaCon is the annual STN conference hosted in Austin, Texas this year for 2026. The conference includes several topics pertinent to trauma care from trauma experts around the world.  My hope is to share these lessons with trauma professionals in Michigan to improve trauma care locally.

Jennie Dent BSN, RN

Jennie is passionate about trauma care and has dedicated her career to caring for this patient population. She has spent 22 years with Corewell Health (formerly Spectrum Health), working as a trauma RN, preceptor, and Trauma Nurse Navigator at the Butterworth Level I Trauma Center. For the past three years, she has proudly served as the Trauma Program Coordinator at Corewell Health Blodgett Level III Trauma Center.

Jennie is a proud mom to two amazing kids: Ethan, a high school junior and standout student-athlete who plays lacrosse and tennis, and Lauren, who is currently in nursing school and beginning her clinical rotations at Blodgett Hospital this month. Her fur baby, Lulu—an 8‑lb rescue from Louisiana—can outplay dogs twice her size when it comes to fetch.

In her spare time, Jennie enjoys boating, reading, hiking, and fishing in Ludington, where she and her husband, Adam, renovated a tiny lakeside cottage during the pandemic.
