Judy N. Mikhail, PhD, MBA, RN, is known for her contributions to trauma nursing practice, quality improvement, and research. She serves as the Program Manager for the Michigan Trauma Quality Improvement Program (MTQIP). She is a Past President of STN and an accomplished lecturer, author, and researcher, with numerous publications

 

A Nurse’s Guide to Writing for Publication breakout session

This session is designed to empower trauma nurses, to navigate the process of writing and publishing an article. Topics include choosing a compelling topic, conducting a literature review, structuring your manuscript, adhering to ethical guidelines, and
navigating the publication process, along with practical tips on how to handle reviewers’ feedback.

 

  • Objective 1: Attendees should understand the basic structure of a scholarly article, how to formulate a compelling introduction, effectively discuss methods, present results, and conclude with a powerful discussion that can stimulate further
    research.
  • Objective 2: Attendees will be familiar with the submission and publication process, including how navigate the peer-review process, respond to reviewers’ comments, and adhere to ethical guidelines for academic writing.
